Cheek Lift
One of the hallmarks of youth is having round, full cheeks, signifying vitality. Over time, the tissue in and near our cheeks begins to thin and droop, stretching the lower eyelids and creating an elongated look. Sometimes referred to as a mid face lift, a cheek lift can be your best option to restore a more youthful contour to the cheeks and under-eye area when signs of thinness and sagging start to show.

When to Consider a Mid Face Lift
The most common reasons to consider getting a mid face lift include:
- Cheek tissue has drifted downward, creating an elongated look for the face
- The lower eyelids have become stretched and droopy
- Cheeks lack definition or curve
The best candidates for a cheek lift have realistic expectations for their results and are in good overall physical and mental health.
Before Your Cheek Lift
Prior to your cheek lift, you will have the chance to sit down privately with Dr. Ezzat and discuss any questions or concerns you may have about cheek lift surgery. Dr. Ezzat will also explain the details of the procedure and the kind of results you can expect to see.
Dr. Ezzat will also evaluate your needs and help you determine the best anti-aging approach. He may suggest treatments that will complement your cheek lift results, such as a brow lift or eyelid surgery to address aging in the upper face. Men or women with more significant signs of aging may be better candidates for a full face lift.
Your Cheek Lift Procedure
Mid face lifts are usually performed using general anesthesia, though in some cases a local anesthetic may be preferable. A cheek lift is an outpatient procedure. Incision placement varies widely based on each individual’s needs, ranging from in the hairline and mouth to the lower eyelids. Dr. Ezzat will explain the best incision for you during your consultation.
A cheek lift is performed by lifting the facial tissue in the mid face and smoothing out the skin. In some cases, providing volumization by injecting fat or the use of implants is necessary to achieve the desired look. Dr. Ezzat carefully supports the reallocated facial tissue with sutures to restore youthful curves to the cheeks. The incisions are then closed and dressed.
Your Cheek Lift Recovery
Your recovery experience will be affected by many factors, like the extent of your procedure, your overall health and your age. Bruising and swelling around the incision sites is normal following surgery. Keeping your head elevated and using ice packs can help speed your recovery along. To manage soreness, over-the-counter pain medications should be sufficient. Be sure to protect your incisions from direct sun exposure for 1 year after your cheek lift.
Most people who get midface lifts take 7 to 12 days away from work and their normal routine. Vigorous activity should be avoided for at least 1 month after surgery. Your final results will develop gradually over the course of about 6 months to 1 year.
Your New Look
A cheek lift can revive the facial appearance by restoring youthful curvature to the midface and smoothing the skin beneath the eyes. You should be able to see a difference in the contours of your face that helps you look younger and brighter.
