Prominent cheekbones have come to be one of the primary features that we associate with a youthful, energetic appearance. However, the natural aging process can cause pronounced sagging in the mid-face area, just as in other areas such as around the eyes and mouth. This can lead to a tired or older appearance.

Fortunately, there are both surgical and nonsurgical cheek lift solutions to help you achieve the smooth, youthful-looking appearance you’re after.

Most people are able to return to work within 7 to 10 days after a surgical cheek lift.

What Is a Surgical Cheek Lift?

A surgical cheek lift, also called a mid-face lift, is usually performed under general anesthesia and involves precise incisions near your hairline and ears. Through these incisions, Dr. Ezzat can reposition the fat deposits and muscles on top of your cheekbones to create a firmer, lifted appearance.

What Is a Cheek Lift with Injectables?

In contrast, a cheek lift using injectables does not require surgery and therefore comes with little to no downtime. This procedure uses injectable fillers to add volume to the cheek area of your face, simultaneously creating a tightening effect, due to the added volume.

A cheek lift with fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on the type of filler used.

Which Is Right for You?

If you are primarily concerned with a slight loss of volume in your mid-face area, a liquid cheek lift with fillers may make the most sense for you. However, if pronounced skin laxity and drooping in your mid-face area are concerns, a surgical cheek lift could be the most appropriate solution.
